About Bela
Bela Breziner was born in Bogotá, Colombia and completed her bachelors degree in Advertising Art at the Javeriana University in 1971.
After graduation, she worked as a graphic designer at the Casa Hillel, a private foundation, while taking ongoing classes in batik and ceramics. Soon after, Bela began her artistic journey in creating and finding her passion for making Batiks. Bela’s incredible love of art and keen eye for spotting artistic creativity led her toward successfully owning an art gallery for three years in Bogotá, until she moved to San Diego, California in 1983 with her husband and three children.
Since she has been in San Diego, Bela has furthered her art training and taken classes in calligraphy, caricatures and drawing faces. Bela has designed logos, invitations, center pieces for weddings, birthday parties, and other events. She has exhibited her batiks, her primary medium, in several venues including: The Gotthelf Art gallery, The Imperial Savings Bank, Options-The Women’s Event in California and Las Palomas Club in México.
Currently, Bela sells her art privately and in her own studio at the Spanish Village Arts Center in Balboa Park, San Diego.
